Selena Fox, W&M Class of 1971

Selena A. Fox, originally of Arlington, Virginia, is a class of 1971 graduate of William & Mary with a bachelor’s of science (cum laude) in psychology. Her appreciation for the historical aspects in Williamsburg, coupled with the idea of receiving a coed education, is what drew Fox to the college.

Henretta Band, W&M Class of 1954

Henretta Trent Band arrived at William & Mary in 1950. During her time at William & Mary, she was a member of the Baptist Student Union, German House, and Delta Delta Delta. She additionally participated in the Biology Club, Backdrop Club, and Orchesis. Band also spent a year abroad through a program with Exeter University.

Jean Bruce, W&M Class of 1949

Jean Bruce arrived at William & Mary in 1945. During her time at William & Mary, she participated in Kappa Kappa Gamma, the Student Association, the Women’s Student Cooperative Government Association’s Judicial Committee, the YMCA, and German Club. She was also chair of the Honor Council, served as a President’s Aide, and was a member of the Mortar Board.

Ann Buckles, W&M Class of 1951

Ann Buckles arrived at William & Mary in 1949. During her time at the College, she acted in a series of plays and joined Pi Beta Phi.

Judy Che-Castaldo, W&M Class of 2004

Judy Che-Castaldo arrived at William & Mary in 2000. During here time at the College, she worked as a research assistant in the Biology department, participated in the Chinese Student Organization, volunteered at the Muscarelle Museum of Art, and tutored English as a second language to international students.

Stephanie Chu, W&M Law Class of 1992

Stephanie Chu arrived at William & Mary Law School in 1989, after graduating from Duke University. During her time at the College, she clerked, volunteered with CASA as a special court-appointed advocate, and coordinated and participated in a study abroad program in Madrid.

Jill Ellis, W&M Class of 1988

Jill Ellis arrived at William & Mary in 1984. During her time at William & Mary, she played women’s soccer, wrote for the Flat Hat, and participated in the College Reading Program. She was the first in her family to attend university.

Fran Engoron, W&M Class of 1970

Fran Engoron arrived at William & Mary in 1966. During her time at William & Mary, she participated in the Colonial Echo and intramurals. She was also involved in the Newman Society, Alpha Kappa Delta sociology honor society, the Catholic Student Association, and Gamma Phi Beta.

Judy Ewell, W&M Professor Emerita of History

During her 30-plus years at William & Mary, Ewell fought on behalf of equal pay for women, contributed to the development of the international studies curriculum, and received the Thomas Jefferson Award and the Commonwealth of Virginia Outstanding Faculty Award.

Nancy Kurtz Falck

During her time at William & Mary, Nancy participated in W&M Choir, Kappa Kappa Gamma, the Student Association, and Women Student’s Cooperative Government Association. Falck also served as President’s Aide and was a member of Mortar Board.

Steffanie Garrett, W&M Law Class of 1991

Steffanie Garrett arrived at William & Mary Law School in 1988, after graduating from Smith College with a Bachelor of Arts in French and Government. During her time at the law school, Garrett participated in student government, moot court, and served as the Editor-in-Chief of the law school’s newspaper, “The Advocate.”

Glenne Hines Harding, W&M Class of 1965

Arriving at William & Mary in 1961, Glenne participated in Kappa Delta, the Panhellenic Council, the Psychology Club, Orchestra, the Canterbury Club, Dorm Council, W&M Theater, and the Pep Club.

Kathryn Healy, W&M Class of 2007

Kathryn Healy arrived at William & Mary in 2003. While at the College, Healy studied abroad in Spain and became a sister of Kappa Kappa Gamma.

Audra Mallow arrived at William & Mary in 1986. During her time at William & Mary, she participated in Chi Omega, the Ski Club, Student Alumni Council, Intramurals, the Swimming Club, and Study Abroad. She was also a member of the Women’s Swimming and Diving team her freshman year.

Cam Walker arrived at William & Mary in 1960. During her time as a student, she participated in the Women’s Dorm Association, Kappa Alpha Theta, the Mermettes, and Colonial Echo. She was also named to Mortar Board and Phi Beta Kappa.

Brooke Weinmann arrived at William & Mary in 1975. During her time at William & Mary, she participated in Kappa Kappa Gamma, the Honor Council, the Washington Program, and Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society.

Millie West, Trailblazer for Women's Athletics

Millie West arrived at William & Mary in 1959, not as a student but as an instructor, professor, coach, and Women’s Athletic Director. In 2017, she was awarded a degree of Doctor of Human Letters from the university.
